Torta Chaja Cake Recipe

It’s my favourite time of the year, Midsummer, where Scandis celebrate the summer solstice 🌞 . It’s a time to connect with nature and enjoy the longest day of natural light. ✨

In Sweden, we gather with family & friends, pick 🌸 , dance & sing drinking songs, and feast over a traditional smorgasbord. It may have pickled herring, gravlax, rye crispbread, all to finish with a classic strawberries and cream cake 🍰

This year, I’m sharing a classic peaches and cream cake recipe from Uruguay wearing the vintage linen dress dropping this Thurs. 🍑Glad Midsommar! 🍑

Ingredients: 

2 cans PEACHES IN SYRUP

dice I peach & slice rest of peaches

(save peach syrup)

I can DULCE DE LECHE handful MERENGUE

2c or 5dI COLD WHIPPING CREAM

2T CORNSTARCH (Optional)

3 layers SPONGE CAKE
